3D Printed King Song S22 Handle
3D printing allows people to modify or repair products they own. Some products develop communities of owners who work together on sharing and designing 3d models to upgrade their items.
The King Song S22 electric unicycle is an example of this. In this instance a Canberra based owner of this unicycle sent us a file designed by the community.
We printed the part out of TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) filament. This is a rubber-like material that has some flex to it. This makes its very strong and tough, it will bend rather then snapping or shattering.
To increase the strength even further, we printed it with 100% infill. This means we made the part out of solid TPU, not hollow on the inside.
TPU filament has to be printed very slowly, so this part took over 2 days to print. But the end product certainly should stand up to plenty of abuse.
